Cross your arms over your chest, with your hands on your opposite shoulders. 3. When your 30-second timer starts, rise to a full standing position, keeping your arms against your chest. 4. Immediately and safely sit back down again until you touch the chair seat. 5. Repeat this up-and-down motion as many times as you can in 30 seconds. Make sure you are rising to a full stand and sitting down completely each time. If you have to use your hands to push off your legs or the chair, your score is zero. Your score is the total number of full stands you complete. If you are more than halfway up at the 30-second mark, you can count it as a full repetition.
