Airlines are aggressively expanding their networks, making it easier than ever to reach both popular and emerging destinations. Akasa Air is significantly boosting its operations, with a notable expansion from Kolkata, where daily departures are set to increase.
The airline is also adding new direct flights connecting Udaipur with Mumbai and Bengaluru, starting from October 15, 2026, perfectly timed for the festive season. This enhances access to one of India’s prime tourism hubs, known for its lakes and palaces. Meanwhile, IndiGo has also been on an expansion spree. Following the launch of operations from the new Noida International Airport, it is connecting the National Capital Region (NCR) to cities like Bengaluru, Navi Mumbai, and more than a dozen others. Air India is also strengthening heritage and spiritual tourism links, with new daily flights connecting Delhi and Varanasi to Khajuraho and a direct seasonal service from Mumbai to Jaisalmer, both starting from October 25, 2026. For those looking to travel abroad, IndiGo has launched a direct flight from Mumbai to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, commencing November 20, 2026, becoming the only Indian carrier on that route.
Regional Hubs on the Rise
