Malaysia: The 30-Day Visa-Free Advantage
Malaysia has emerged as a prime example of this trend. By extending its visa-free entry policy for Indian nationals until the end of 2026, the country has positioned itself as a top choice for a quick and easy international trip. The policy allows a stay of up to 30 days without a visa, a move that has directly translated into a massive influx of tourists. In 2025, Malaysia recorded over 1.6 million visitors from India, a significant jump from previous years, underscoring the success of its open-door strategy. With over 240 weekly flights connecting the two nations, the combination of accessibility and simplified entry has made Malaysia a go-to for everything from city breaks in Kuala Lumpur to beach holidays in Langkawi.
Thailand: Bouncing Back with Visa-Free Access
Thailand's recent policy adjustments offer a compelling case study on the importance of visa-free travel. After briefly considering an end to its visa exemption scheme, which led to a drop in Indian arrivals, the government reversed course in mid-July 2026. It confirmed that Indian passport holders will continue to enjoy visa-free entry, though the maximum stay has been adjusted to 30 days.
