build satellites. Real-world exposure is the bridge between theory and passion. When students can touch, see, and participate in the application of their knowledge, it ignites a spark. ISRO has actively embraced this philosophy by creating dedicated pathways for students to engage directly with the world of space exploration. The most prominent of these is the YUva VIgyani KAryakram (YUVIKA), or "Young Scientist Programme". This two-week residential program is designed specifically for school students, aiming to "catch them young" by imparting basic knowledge of space science and technology. Participants are selected from across the country, with a preference for those in rural areas, and get to visit various ISRO centres, interact with senior scientists, and even witness live rocket launches. For university students, ISRO supports student satellite programs, providing mentorship, testing facilities, and launch opportunities, allowing them to design and build their own satellites from the ground up.
