The Amaravati Express (18047/18048) is another excellent choice, running on several days of the week. For a slower journey, which can often mean better and longer views, consider the Vasco–Londa Passenger train. Other options include the Poorna Express and various weekly special trains. The key is to check the schedule to ensure the train passes the Dudhsagar section during daylight hours. A morning or afternoon passage is ideal for the best visibility and photography conditions.
Securing the Perfect Viewpoint
The side you sit on matters immensely. For the most dramatic reveal of the waterfall, if your train is travelling from Goa (Madgaon/Kulem) towards Karnataka (Londa/Castle Rock), you should try to get a seat on the left side of the train. If you are travelling in the opposite direction, from Karnataka to Goa, the right side will offer the best view. While they provide an exceptional viewing experience, they are significantly more expensive than standard sleeper or second-class seats and may not align with a strict budget travel plan.
