to choreograph the film's many set pieces. Reports indicate that for a single jail sequence, three international action experts were brought in to work with nearly 200 stunt performers. Another major sequence reportedly involved a team of Russian fighters flown in specifically for the shoot. This global approach suggests the action will feature a variety of styles, from raw, close-quarters combat to massive, explosive showdowns.
Budgeting for an Unforgettable Spectacle
True to its name, King is being mounted on a royal budget. The film is reportedly one of the most expensive action films ever made in India, with a total budget estimated to be around ₹350-450 crore. A significant portion of this is being allocated specifically to the action sequences. One jaw-dropping report claims that a single 10-day action schedule shot in Europe cost the producers a staggering ₹50 crore. This kind of investment highlights the filmmakers' ambition to create visuals and stunt work that will set a new benchmark for Indian cinema, moving beyond green screens for more authentic, on-location spectacles.
Suhana Khan's High-Octane Debut
King is not just a vehicle for Shah Rukh Khan; it also marks the highly anticipated big-screen action debut of his daughter, Suhana Khan. While she made her acting debut in 2023's The Archies, King will see her in a physically demanding role that requires intensive preparation. Reports from late 2025 confirmed that Suhana was undergoing rigorous training with international action teams to master her stunts for what is described as a "raw form of action". Filmmaker Farah Khan even revealed that SRK himself has been personally training his daughter on set, ensuring she is ready for the film's demanding sequences. This mentor-mentee dynamic is rumored to be a core part of the film's plot as well.
SRK's Hands-On Approach
Shah Rukh Khan's involvement in the action goes far beyond just performing. As a producer and the film's lead, he is taking a hands-on role in designing and supervising the major action set pieces. During the extensive shoot in Europe, reports suggested that Khan collaborated closely with director Siddharth Anand to plan and even choreograph parts of the sequences himself. This deep involvement stems from a long-held desire to make a film of this genre and scale. Despite suffering a few injuries during the physically demanding shoot, SRK confirmed in September 2026 that he has recovered and the film is nearly complete.

The film's story, originally conceived by Sujoy Ghosh (director of Kahaani), is said to be an emotionally grounded thriller. Some reports have suggested the plot draws inspiration from the classic French film Léon: The Professional, focusing on an older, seasoned assassin (SRK) who takes a young girl (Suhana Khan) under his wing. Director Siddharth Anand, who took over from Ghosh, is known for blending high-octane action with strong character moments.
