A Victorious 2026 Season So Far
As of early September 2026, Satwik and Chirag have added two significant BWF World Tour titles to their cabinet. Their season has been marked by thrilling comebacks and dominant performances. They began the year with a victory at the Singapore Open Super
750 in May, setting a strong tone for the months to follow. They also reached the final of the Thailand Open Super 500. Their second, and most recent, triumph came at the China Masters Super 750. In a stunning display of resilience, they fought back after losing the first game to defeat the home favourites, He Jiting and Ren Xiangyu. This victory was particularly sweet as it marked their first win at the China Masters after finishing as runners-up in both 2023 and 2025.
A Trophy Cabinet Overflowing with BWF World Tour Titles
The 2026 wins are part of an impressive collection of BWF World Tour titles that the pair has accumulated over the years. Their recent China Masters victory was their 10th career title on the prestigious tour. This journey of a decade of titles includes triumphs across all levels of the tour, showcasing their consistent excellence. They were the first Indian men's doubles pair to win a Super 500 title at the 2019 Thailand Open. They broke new ground again by winning their first Super 750 at the 2022 French Open. The pinnacle of their BWF tour success came in 2023 when they won the Indonesia Open, becoming the first-ever men's doubles pair from India to clinch a Super 1000 title. Their collection also includes wins at the Swiss Open, Korea Open, and India Open.
Glory in Major Championships
Beyond the World Tour circuit, Satwik and Chirag have consistently delivered for India at the world's biggest multi-sport events and championships. They are the reigning Asian Games champions, having won a historic gold medal in 2022 (held in 2023), the first ever for India in badminton men's doubles at the event. They also secured a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, upgrading from the silver they won in 2018. In 2023, they ended a 58-year wait for India by winning the Badminton Asia Championships. Adding to their legacy, the duo has also earned two bronze medals at the BWF World Championships, securing podium finishes in 2022 and 2025.
Historic Triumphs in Team Events
Satwik and Chirag have been instrumental in some of Indian badminton's greatest team victories. They were a core part of the squad that won India's historic first-ever Thomas Cup in 2022, a moment considered one of the biggest achievements in Indian sport. Their fighting spirit and ability to win crucial matches under pressure were on full display. They once again played a key role in helping the team secure a bronze medal at the 2026 Thomas Cup. Their contributions were also vital in India's mixed team gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and a silver at the 2022 Asian Games men's team event.
