For the snack bar, that's (8g / 30g) x 100, which equals approximately 26.7g of protein per 100g. In this case, the snack bar is more protein-dense. This simple calculation allows you to see past the marketing claims and understand the true nutritional value, helping you compare products on a level playing field.

Some products, like breakfast cereals or pancake mixes, may display a protein value that is only achieved 'as prepared'—meaning it includes the milk you are expected to add at home. Another tactic involves 'protein quality'. The total grams of protein on a label don't tell the whole story about how much your body can actually use.
