This is a fraction of the cost for other popular destinations. For comparison, a US tourist visa fee is approximately $185 (around ₹15,000), and a Schengen visa for Europe is €90 (over ₹8,000), not including their respective service charges.

The paperwork for a Japan visa is methodical but manageable. You don’t need to be a documentation expert, but you do need to be meticulous. The embassy advises applying up to three months before your planned travel date. After submission, you can track the status of your application online. The typical processing time is around five to six working days, but it is always wise to apply well in advance.
