Who Is Eligible for the Complimentary Visa?
The eligibility criteria for this offer are very specific and all conditions must be met. The promotion is exclusively for Indian passport holders who are departing from India. The core requirement is booking a complete holiday package through a participating travel partner or online travel agency (OTA). This package must include at least three consecutive nights in an Abu Dhabi hotel and a return flight to India. A flight-only or hotel-only booking will not qualify for the free visa. The stay must be in Abu Dhabi; a booking for a hotel in a neighbouring emirate does not qualify, even if you plan to visit Abu Dhabi.
How to Apply and Secure Your Visa
Travellers cannot apply for this free visa independently. The entire process is managed through approved travel partners. The first step is to find a travel agency or OTA that is part of DCT Abu Dhabi's programme. When booking, you must explicitly confirm with the agent that your chosen package qualifies for the complimentary visa subsidy. Once the qualifying package is booked, the travel partner will handle the visa application process on your behalf using the required documents. Some of the participating partners mentioned include Akbar Travels, MakeMyTrip, and Thomas Cook India, but it is crucial to verify with any agency before making a payment.
A Limited-Time Opportunity
This visa promotion is a pilot programme and is strictly time-bound, valid for travel taking place between August 1 and October 31, 2026. The booking window may be shorter, so it is advisable to plan ahead. Furthermore, the initiative is capped and will support a maximum of 20,000 visas during this period. This means the offer is available on a first-come, first-served basis and could potentially be fully subscribed before the October 31 deadline. Travellers interested in taking advantage of the scheme should confirm availability with their travel provider and consider booking sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.
Distinction from Visa on Arrival
It is essential to distinguish this promotional offer from the separate UAE visa-on-arrival facility.
