Why These Diversions Are Happening
The route alterations are required to accommodate essential yard remodelling at Bina and Agasod stations. According to West Central Railway, this work is part of a larger project to connect the third railway line between Bina station (West Central Railway)
and Agasod station (North Central Railway). The process involves pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking work, which is a complex but crucial phase of upgrading railway signalling systems and track layouts. These upgrades are vital for increasing line capacity, improving the punctuality of train services, and enhancing overall operational safety on this busy corridor. The work is scheduled to take place in phases, culminating between October 1 and October 15, 2026.
An Overview of Affected Routes
The majority of the affected trains are long-distance services that pass through Bina station. The diversions will redirect these trains via several key junctions, including Itarsi, Jabalpur, Katni South, New Katni Junction, Guna, Maksi, Nagda, and Kota. Passengers planning to travel on routes connecting Central India with parts of the north, west, and east should take note of these changes, as journey times and intermediate stations may be different than usual. The diversions impact services originating from or heading towards major cities like Bhopal, Rewa, Jabalpur, Jodhpur, and Howrah.
Bhopal-Jodhpur and Howrah-Bhopal Services
The connection between Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh is notably affected. Train No. 14813 Jodhpur-Bhopal Express will be diverted from October 1 to 14. In the return direction, Train No. 14814 Bhopal-Jodhpur Express will run on the revised route from October 1 to 15. The new route for these services will be via Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Maksi Junction, Nagda, and Kota. Additionally, the weekly Train No. 13025 Howrah-Bhopal Express will be diverted via New Katni Junction, Katni South, Jabalpur, and Itarsi on October 12. Its corresponding service, Train No. 13026 Bhopal-Howrah Express, will follow the same diverted route in reverse on October 14.
Changes for Rewanchal and Other Expresses
The popular Rewanchal Express services will see significant changes. From October 8 to 14, Train No. 12185 Rewa-Rani Kamalapati Express and Train No. 12186 Rani Kamalapati-Rewa Express will be rerouted via Katni Junction, Jabalpur, and Itarsi Junction. Similarly, Train No. 11703 Rewa-Dr Ambedkar Nagar Tri-Weekly Express will be diverted on October 8, 11, and 13. Its return service, Train No. 11704, will follow the diverted route on October 9, 12, and 14. This new path will go via Bina Malkhedi, Mahadevkhedi, Guna, Ruthiyai, and Maksi. The Jabalpur-Veraval Express (11466/11465) will also be diverted via the Itarsi-Bhopal route on select dates between October 9 and 12.

Train No. 22181 Jabalpur-Hazrat Nizamuddin Gondwana Express will be rerouted via Katni, Ohan, and Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi station for its journey on October 8. Other affected trains include the Bhopal-Dhanbad Express (11631/11632) and Bhopal-Chopan Express (11633/11634), which will run via Itarsi, Jabalpur, and Katni South on specified dates between October 9 and 15. The Bhopal-Singrauli Express (22165) will also follow this diverted route on October 10, 13, and 14.
