The primary reason for these diversions is essential engineering work, specifically yard remodelling and the connection of a third railway line. West Central Railway and North Central Railway are carrying out pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking work at
Bina and Agasod stations. While these terms sound technical, they refer to crucial upgrades to the signalling and track systems. This work is necessary to improve the safety, speed, and efficiency of train operations in the future, allowing for smoother transit through congested corridors. The work is scheduled to continue until October 15, 2026, prompting the temporary rerouting of services that pass through the Bina-Agasod section.
Key Trains on Diverted Routes
A total of 17 train services are affected by these changes, impacting passengers travelling across multiple states. Some of the notable trains include the Rewanchal Express, Bhopal-Jodhpur Express, and services connecting Veraval with Jabalpur. For instance, Train No. 12185 Rewa-Rani Kamalapati Rewanchal Express will be diverted via Katni, Jabalpur, and Itarsi from October 8 to 14. Similarly, its return service (12186) will follow the same alternate route during this period. The Bhopal-Jodhpur Express (14814/14813) will run via Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Maksi, Nagda, and Kota for the first half of October. Other services, like the Dr Ambedkar Nagar-Rewa Express and the Howrah-Bhopal Weekly Express, will also bypass their usual routes on specific dates. These changes mean that while the trains will still reach their destinations, their paths and intermediary stops will be different.
