However, for the best chances of spotting tigers, the hotter months of April, May, and June are unparalleled. The most logical route involves flying into Jabalpur (JLR), which is the nearest airport to Bandhavgarh (around a 4-5 hour drive), and flying out of Bhopal (BHO), the closest airport to Satpura (around a 3-4 hour drive). The road journey between Bandhavgarh and Satpura itself takes approximately 8-10 hours, so it's best to dedicate a full day for this transfer. Day 1: Arrive at Jabalpur Airport and transfer to your lodge in Bandhavgarh. Day 2: Enjoy morning and evening jeep safaris in Bandhavgarh's core zones. Day 3: Another day of morning and evening safaris to maximize tiger sighting opportunities. Day 4: After breakfast, begin the road transfer to Satpura National Park. Check into your lodge and relax. Day 5: Explore Satpura with a morning jeep safari and an evening boat or canoe safari on the Denwa River. Day 6: Experience a unique walking safari in the morning and a thrilling night safari in the buffer zone in the evening. Day 7: After a final morning activity or breakfast, depart for Bhopal Airport for your journey home.

Bandhavgarh primarily offers jeep safaris in its core and buffer zones. Satpura provides more variety with jeep, boat, walking, and night safaris. Accommodation options near both parks range from budget-friendly guesthouses to luxurious jungle lodges. Many lodges can also assist with safari bookings, often simplifying the process for their guests. It's wise to book your lodging at the same time as your safari permits to ensure availability.
Essential Tips for Your Trip

The journey between Bandhavgarh and Satpura is a long one, so hiring a comfortable and reliable taxi is recommended for the transfer. Both parks have multiple entry gates and zones, so ensure your accommodation is conveniently located for the zones you have booked. In Bandhavgarh, the Tala zone is the most popular and historically rich. In Satpura, the Madhai gate is the main entry point for most activities. Remember that on Wednesdays, afternoon safaris in the core zones of Madhya Pradesh parks are typically closed.
