The main attractions here are simple and free: walk the famous Gilbert Trail, a misty path with stunning valley views, or hike up to Monkey Point for a panoramic vista. Enjoying hot momos and sweet corn from a street vendor while walking down the Upper and Lower Mall roads is a classic Kasauli experience. If you only have a day or two, Neemrana in Rajasthan is an excellent, quick getaway. Located just 120 kilometres from Delhi, it's easily accessible by bus or car. While a stay at the famous Neemrana Fort-Palace can be pricey, you don’t need to stay there to enjoy the area. There are several budget hotels and guesthouses in the town of Neemrana itself. You can visit the fort for a day trip (entry fees apply) to experience its grandeur and perhaps try the zip-lining. Alternatively, simply exploring the surrounding Aravalli hills, which turn a surprising green during the monsoon, is a rewarding experience. The ancient step-well, Neemrana Baori, is another historical site to explore. The short distance means travel costs are minimal, especially if travelling by bus.
