vantage point to observe wildlife along the riverbanks and on the numerous small islands that dot the Denwa River and Tawa reservoir. During these cooler months, the forest is lush green from the recent monsoon, and the river is full, making for a pleasant ride. This period is also peak season for migratory birds. From March to June, as the weather gets hotter and water levels recede, wildlife sightings can increase as animals congregate near the remaining water sources. However, boat safaris may be suspended around mid-April depending on water levels. Safaris are generally offered in two slots: a morning safari (around 6:30 AM to 11:00 AM) and an evening safari (around 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM), with timings shifting slightly based on the season.
How to Book Your Boat Safari
The main entry point for most safaris, including boat safaris, is Madhai Gate. Unlike jeep safaris that often require booking far in advance online via the MP Forest Department website, boat safaris can typically be booked on the same day at the Madhai gate ticket counter. The safari is usually offered on an hourly basis. During peak tourist season when demand is high, it might be restricted to just one hour per booking to accommodate everyone. In the quieter off-season, you may be able to book a longer, two-hour ride for more extensive exploration. You'll need to present a valid ID proof for all visitors, such as an Aadhaar card or passport, for the booking.

To reach Satpura, the nearest major airport is in Bhopal (around 150-170 km away), and the most convenient railway station is Pipariya (about 45-50 km away).
