What is the Abu Dhabi Visa Deal?
Abu Dhabi has launched a pilot programme that covers the full cost of a UAE entry visa for eligible Indian tourists. The initiative, which runs from August 1 to October 31, 2026, is designed to make the destination more accessible and attractive to visitors
from India, one of its key international markets. It's important to note this is not a visa-free entry scheme; a visa is still required and issued, but the cost is covered by the tourism department for qualifying bookings. The programme is initially limited to 20,000 visas, so availability is a key factor to consider when planning.
Who Is Eligible for the Free Visa?
Eligibility for this offer is specific and tied to a complete holiday package booking. To qualify, a traveller must meet all of the following conditions: they must hold a valid Indian passport and be departing from India. The booking must include a stay of at least three consecutive nights in an Abu Dhabi hotel. It also requires a confirmed return flight from India as part of the same package. Crucially, the entire holiday must be booked through a participating travel partner or an approved online travel agency. Travellers cannot apply for the free visa independently.
How to Apply and Secure the Deal
The process is handled entirely by your travel provider. Indian travellers cannot apply directly to UAE authorities to claim this offer. The first step is to find a participating travel agency or online platform that is part of this promotion. Once you book a qualifying package that includes the minimum three-night hotel stay and return flights, the travel partner will process the visa application on your behalf. They will work with a Destination Management Company (DMC) appointed by the tourism department, which covers the visa fee directly, or get a reimbursement of AED 285 for each eligible visa. Your responsibility is to provide the necessary documents, like your passport copy and photos, to the agency.
Important Dates and Limitations
The promotional window is clearly defined. The free visa offer is valid for travel to Abu Dhabi between August 1, 2026, and October 31, 2026. Bookings must be made for travel within this period to qualify. As this is a pilot programme, it is capped at 20,000 visas. Due to this limit, it is highly recommended that you confirm with your travel agent that the offer is still available before finalising your holiday booking. This initiative is separate from the UAE's annual summer visa waiver for children under 18, which runs from July 15 to September 15.
Why This Is a Great Opportunity
This visa deal presents a significant cost-saving opportunity for individuals, couples, and families planning a trip to Abu Dhabi. By waiving the visa fee, which can be a notable upfront expense, travellers can allocate more of their budget towards experiences, dining, and attractions within the emirate. The three-month window covers a pleasant season for travel and aligns with holiday periods for many in India. The initiative is part of a broader strategy by Abu Dhabi to strengthen tourism ties with India and encourage longer stays, giving visitors more time to explore attractions like the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Ferrari World, and the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
