All Aboard the New Express
Indian Railways has given the green light for a new daily express service that will run between Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Sawantwadi Road in the Sindhudurg district. Operating as train numbers 15087 and 15088 for its respective
journeys, the service will cover a distance of over 500 kilometres. It is designed to cater to a wide range of passengers, including tourists, students, business travelers, and daily commuters. With 22 commercial stops planned along the route, the train will connect major hubs like Dadar, Thane, and Panvel with key Konkan towns such as Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavli, and Kudal before terminating at Sawantwadi. This extensive network of stops is poised to dramatically improve access to and from the southern Konkan region.
