How to Perform the Test Correctly

When you’re ready, start a 30-second timer and begin to stand up to a full standing position, then sit back down completely. Count how many full repetitions you can complete in the 30 seconds. If you are more than halfway up when the time ends, you can count it as a full stand. Importantly, you should not use your arms to push off from your legs or the chair; if you need to, your score for the test is zero.
