Why These Disruptions Are Necessary

key junctions. This third line is a critical capacity-enhancement project designed to reduce congestion on a busy corridor, improve the punctuality of trains, and allow for the smoother movement of both passenger and freight traffic in the future. The work, which includes pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking phases, has been scheduled from early September through mid-October to ensure it is completed safely and efficiently.
The Complete List of Affected Trains
According to the official announcement, 17 key train services will operate on alternative routes on specific dates throughout October. Passengers are strongly advised to check if their planned journey is affected. The trains facing diversion include popular services like the Rewanchal Express, Bhopal-Jodhpur Express, and others connecting major cities. Services via Jabalpur and Itarsi
A significant number of trains will be rerouted through a corridor including Jabalpur, Itarsi, and Katni. These include: Train No. 12185 Rewa-Rani Kamalapati Rewanchal Express will be diverted via Katni, Jabalpur, and Itarsi from October 8 to 14. Train No. 12186 Rani Kamalapati-Rewa Rewanchal Express will take the reverse diverted route during the same period. Train No. 13025 Howrah-Bhopal Weekly Express is set to be diverted on October 12, with the return service, Train No. 13026 Bhopal-Howrah, diverted on October 14. Train No. 11631 Bhopal-Dhanbad Tri-Weekly Express will be rerouted on October 9, 12, and 15, with the return service, Train No. 11632, following the same diversion on the same dates. Train No. 22165 Bhopal-Singrauli Express will be diverted on October 10, 13, and 14, and its return service, Train No. 22166, will be diverted on October 9 and 13. Train No. 11466 Jabalpur-Veraval Express will be diverted on October 9 and 12, while Train No. 11465 Veraval-Jabalpur will be diverted on October 10 and 12.
Services via Guna and Maksi
Another set of trains will be rerouted through Guna, Maksi, and surrounding junctions. This includes: Train No. 11703 Rewa-Dr Ambedkar Nagar Tri-Weekly Express will run via Bina Malkhedi, Mahadevkhedi, Guna, and Maksi on October 8, 11, and 13. The return service, Train No. 11704, will use the reverse route on October 9, 12, and 14. Train No. 14813 Jodhpur-Bhopal Express will be diverted via Kota, Nagda, Maksi, and Sant Hirdaram Nagar from October 1 to 14. Train No. 14814 Bhopal-Jodhpur Express will follow the reverse diverted route for a longer period, from October 1 to 15.
