Indian Railways has recently approved a much-awaited daily express service connecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai with Sawantwadi Road in the heart of the Sindhudurg district. Operating as train numbers 15087 and 15088, this
service will traverse the 510-kilometre scenic route with 22 stops at key towns like Panvel, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, and Kankavli. By providing a daily, dependable connection, the train addresses a long-standing demand from residents, tourists, and businesses. It is expected to significantly ease travel for those commuting for work, education, or simply to visit family, strengthening the bond between the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and the coastal belt.
