Since 2025, Indian Railways has been strictly enforcing rules that prohibit passengers with unconfirmed waitlisted tickets from boarding reserved AC and Sleeper coaches. Gone are the days of hoping to reason with the TTE; the rule now is that if your ticket remains fully waitlisted after the final chart is prepared, you cannot legally board these coaches.
