For urban centers like Delhi-NCR, the primary challenges from intense rainfall are waterlogging in low-lying areas and significant traffic congestion. Authorities have warned that the downpours could reduce visibility and disrupt daily commutes. In the hill states, the impact is more severe, with reports of road blockages and damage to infrastructure already emerging from Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In Uttarakhand, heavy rains have already led to the closure of numerous roads, including national highways, affecting travel and pilgrimage routes.
