Several cities are already using AI and data analytics to streamline these grievance systems, automatically categorizing complaints and routing them to the correct departments. The next step is to use this data proactively. By analyzing complaint hotspots, municipalities can predict where infrastructure is likely to fail and intervene before a crisis occurs. Similarly, sensor-based monitoring on bridges and highways can provide continuous data on structural health, allowing for early and less costly interventions. These technologies can transform civic bodies from reactive repair crews into proactive asset managers, but their success depends on a willingness to listen to the data and act on it.
