The Impact of Diet and Daily Habits
What you do during the day significantly affects your sleep at night. Consuming caffeine too late in the afternoon or alcohol before bed can severely fragment your sleep. While alcohol might make you feel drowsy initially, it disrupts REM sleep later in the night. Large meals close to bedtime can also cause discomfort and interfere with your ability to rest soundly. On the other hand, regular physical activity is proven to improve sleep quality, but intense exercise too close to bedtime can have the opposite effect by raising your heart rate and adrenaline levels.
