The best time for stargazing in Himachal is generally from late spring to early autumn (May to October), when the weather is milder and roads are accessible. The post-monsoon period, from September to October, often offers the clearest skies after the rains have washed away dust from the atmosphere. For the best experience, plan your trip around a new moon phase, as the moonlight of a full moon can wash out fainter stars. Even in summer, nights at high altitudes are cold, so packing multiple warm layers is essential.
