Thailand: The Land of Smiles Awaits
Thailand has long been a favourite for Indian travellers, and for good reason. Its blend of vibrant city life, serene temples, and stunning beaches offers something for everyone. For young explorers, it's an accessible first step into Southeast Asian
adventure. As of September 15, 2026, Indian passport holders can enter Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days. This is a reduction from the previous 60-day period but remains more than enough time for a whirlwind 5-day tour. The policy change aims to welcome genuine tourists while managing longer stays. For a short trip, this visa exemption makes planning incredibly straightforward—just ensure your passport has at least six months of validity and you have proof of your return flight and accommodation.
Five-Day Blitz: Bangkok & Pattaya
This itinerary combines the non-stop energy of Bangkok with the coastal vibes of Pattaya. Start your trip by flying into Bangkok. Spend Day 1 settling in and diving into the world-famous street food scene on Khao San Road. On Day 2, immerse yourself in culture by visiting the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Pho). In the afternoon, take a long-tail boat cruise along the Chao Phraya River for a different perspective of the city. On Day 3, take a bus or cab to Pattaya. Check into your hotel and spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach. Day 4 is for adventure—try parasailing or take a speedboat to nearby Coral Island (Koh Larn) for snorkelling in clear waters. On Day 5, enjoy a final Thai breakfast before travelling back to Bangkok for your flight home, loaded with memories.
Malaysia: A Fusion of Cultures
Malaysia offers a unique tapestry of Malay, Chinese, and Indian influences, visible in its food, architecture, and festivals. It's another fantastic, easy-to-access destination. Indian citizens can enjoy visa-free entry for up to 30 days, a policy that is confirmed to be in place until at least the end of 2026. To ensure smooth entry, you must complete the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) online within three days before your arrival. You'll also need a passport with six months' validity, a confirmed return ticket, and proof of accommodation. This visa-free arrangement makes exploring Malaysia's modern cities and historic towns a breeze for young Indian travellers on a budget and tight schedule.
