Where to Go: The Famed Parks of MP
Madhya Pradesh is rightfully known as the 'Tiger State'. Parks like Bandhavgarh, with its high tiger density, and Kanha, the inspiration for 'The Jungle Book', are legendary. Both typically reopen around mid-October. Bandhavgarh's mix of dense forest and open grasslands provides varied photographic opportunities. Kanha is celebrated for its vast meadows and being the last refuge of the hard-ground Barasingha. Pench and Satpura National Parks also offer incredible biodiversity, from leopards and wild dogs to a stunning array of birdlife, all set against the beautiful post-monsoon scenery.
