It considers factors like the type of waitlist (such as General, Remote Location, or Pooled Quota), the time of year, and even special events or holidays that impact travel. By identifying these patterns, the machine learning model can predict the likelihood of your ticket moving from waitlisted to confirmed status. The accuracy of this prediction model has already seen significant improvement, reportedly increasing from 53% to nearly 94%, with the ultimate goal of providing near-perfect forecasts. This means the percentage you see next to 'CNF Probability' is a scientifically derived estimate, not a random number.
