Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched its 'Wonders of Vietnam & Cambodia' tour, an eight-day, seven-night journey starting from Chennai International Airport. This package is designed as a hassle-free experience, bundling
flights, accommodation, meals, and guided tours into a single offering, making it an appealing option for travellers who prefer a structured itinerary. The tour is scheduled to run from November 17 to November 25, 2026, offering a chance to explore two of Southeast Asia's most captivating countries, known for their rich history, Buddhist monasteries, and breathtaking scenery.
The Journey Day by Day
The adventure begins with an overnight flight from Chennai to Da Nang, Vietnam. Upon arrival, the itinerary includes exploring Da Nang's highlights like the Marble Mountains and My Khe Beach. The following days are packed with excursions, including a trip to the famous Ba Na Hills to see the Golden Bridge and a visit to the lantern-lit streets of Hoi An Ancient Town. From Da Nang, travellers will take a flight to Hanoi, Vietnam's capital. Here, the tour covers key landmarks such as the Temple of Literature and Hoan Kiem Lake. A major highlight is the excursion to Ha Long Bay, which includes an overnight cruise amid the stunning limestone karsts, with opportunities for kayaking and cave exploration. The final leg of the journey involves a flight from Hanoi to Siem Reap, Cambodia, the gateway to the magnificent Angkor Wat temple complex, which is a central feature of the tour's Cambodian segment.
Breaking Down the Cost
The package price starts from approximately ₹1.5 lakh per person, with variations based on occupancy. For a single traveller, the cost is ₹1,75,200. For double occupancy, the price is ₹1,53,750 per person, and for triple occupancy, it is ₹1,51,250. There are also specific rates for children travelling with families. A child between 5 and 11 years requiring an extra bed will cost ₹1,31,500, while a child in the same age group without an extra bed costs ₹1,15,600. These prices are structured to be all-inclusive, covering the bulk of the expenses one would incur on such a trip.
What's Included and What's Not
The IRCTC package is comprehensive, aiming to provide a seamless travel experience. Included in the cost are round-trip air tickets in economy class from Chennai, as well as the domestic flight between Da Nang and Hanoi. Accommodation in 3-star hotels is covered, which includes two nights in Da Nang, two in Hanoi, one night on the Ha Long Bay cruise, and two nights in Siem Reap. All meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) are provided, along with all road transport via an air-conditioned coach for sightseeing. Crucially, the package also covers visa fees for both Vietnam and Cambodia, travel insurance for passengers up to age 79, and the services of an English-speaking guide at all destinations. The cost also includes entrance tickets for all sightseeing activities mentioned in the itinerary, such as boat rides and cable car tickets. The primary exclusions are personal expenses, such as shopping, laundry, and tips.
