Tourists who are already in Thailand on a 30-day visa-free entry can apply for a one-time extension of up to another 30 days. This application must be made at a local Thai immigration office and typically involves a fee. However, approval is at the discretion of the immigration officer. For those who know from the outset that they need more than 30 days, the most reliable option is to apply for an appropriate tourist e-Visa through the official Thai embassy portal before leaving India. This ensures you have the correct legal standing for a longer vacation without relying on an extension.
