Indore: International Ambitions Reignited
Indore's Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport is also re-establishing its international credentials. After a suspension of overseas flights for over four months, direct international services are resuming. An Air India Express flight to Abu Dhabi is scheduled to start on July 15, 2026, operating multiple times a week. This new route replaces a previously suspended service to Sharjah and is seen as a strategic upgrade. While the previous service was popular, the connection to Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport offers travellers from Madhya Pradesh a gateway to over 80 cities in Europe, North America, and the Middle East, potentially reducing reliance on layovers in Delhi or Mumbai.
