The Parvathipuram Manyam district administration has unveiled an ambitious plan to introduce dedicated 'bike tourism' circuits, aiming to formalise the region's appeal for motorcycle and cycling enthusiasts. District officials have been tasked with developing
a comprehensive action plan to identify safe and scenic 30-kilometre routes that connect waterfalls, viewpoints, and other attractions. The vision extends beyond just marking trails; it includes creating a complete ecosystem with designated rest shelters, trekking paths, and secure overnight stay facilities for tourists. This initiative builds upon a successful pilot program for a tribal bike taxi service, which was well-received by visitors needing access to remote waterfalls. By creating structured circuits, the administration hopes to streamline the experience for a growing number of riders already drawn to the area's winding ghat roads.
Discovering the Manyam Wilderness
Nestled in the Eastern Ghats, the Manyam region is one of Andhra Pradesh's best-kept secrets. The district is a tapestry of thick forests, rolling hills, and breathtaking valleys, making it a natural fit for eco-tourism. In the neighbouring Alluri Sitharama Raju district, which includes the popular Araku Valley, authorities are already developing a 122-kilometre network of world-class trekking trails. Plans are also underway for caravan tourism, offering visitors a flexible way to explore the scenic attractions without being tied to traditional hotels. The tourism push includes a wide array of activities, from rock climbing to paramotor rides and even tethered hot air ballooning over the picturesque Padmapuram Gardens. Together, these initiatives signal a coordinated strategy to create a multi-faceted adventure hub that offers something for every type of traveller, from trekkers and campers to bikers and thrill-seekers.
