To accommodate the heavy passenger traffic during the Ganpati festival in September 2026, both Central and Western Railways have announced a significant number of special train services. Central Railway is running 262 special trips, which include 200
reserved and 62 unreserved trains. These services connect major hubs like Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur with key destinations in the Konkan region. Western Railway is contributing 42 special services, primarily connecting Mumbai and parts of Gujarat with towns like Sawantwadi and Ratnagiri. Key Special Train Details for September
Among the many services, specific trains have been detailed for the festive period. For instance, Train No. 09019 from Mumbai Central to Sawantwadi Road is scheduled to run on multiple dates in September, including the 18th, 19th, and 20th. This train departs from Mumbai Central at 10:45 AM and arrives at Sawantwadi Road at 2:30 AM the next day. The return service, Train No. 09020, leaves Sawantwadi at 4:50 AM on its scheduled days. Another key service, Train No. 01007 from CSMT to Madgaon, will run on specific dates with a departure time of 12:40 AM from Mumbai. These trains will have multiple halts at popular stations like Panvel, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, and Kudal, ensuring comprehensive connectivity.
