On overcast or cloudy days, you'll need longer—closer to 20 or even 30 minutes—because the cloud cover filters the light's intensity. Outdoor light, even on a gloomy day, is many times more powerful than standard indoor lighting. Leave the sunglasses at home for this short period. You don't need to stare directly at the sun—and you never should—but you need the light to enter your eyes to activate the correct neural pathways. Regular eyeglasses or contact lenses are fine. Don't try to get your light through a window or a car windshield. Most glass filters out a significant portion of the specific UV wavelengths that are most effective at signaling your internal clock, making the process far less efficient.
