Often cited as an engineering marvel of post-independence India, the Konkan Railway route connects Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka along the western coast. The journey, particularly between Mumbai and Goa, is a feast for the eyes. The track cuts through the rugged Sahyadri mountains on one side and opens up to stunning vistas of the Arabian Sea on the other.
