The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has launched a pilot program that covers the full cost of a UAE entry visa for eligible Indian tourists. This is not a visa-free travel policy, but rather a visa cost subsidy. Instead of travellers
paying the standard visa fee of Dh285 (approximately ₹6,600), DCT Abu Dhabi will reimburse or cover the cost directly for its travel partners. The initiative is designed to make holidaying in the emirate more affordable and encourage longer stays. This program is running for a limited time, from August 1 to October 31, 2026, and is initially capped at 20,000 visas, so availability is limited.
Who is Eligible for This Offer?
The offer is specifically targeted at Indian passport holders who are travelling from India. To qualify for the complimentary visa, travellers must meet a clear set of conditions as part of a single package booking. A flight-only or hotel-only booking will not be sufficient to claim the benefit. The core requirements are booking a return flight from India and a stay of at least three consecutive nights in a hotel located within Abu Dhabi. Bookings for hotels in other emirates, such as Dubai, will not qualify for this particular Abu Dhabi-centric promotion.
How to Secure Your Free Visa
A crucial point is that travellers cannot apply for this free visa independently through a government portal or upon arrival. The benefit is exclusively available through participating travel partners, which include online travel agencies (OTAs) and tour operators like Akbar Travels and MakeMyTrip. The process requires you to book a qualifying holiday package that includes your return flights and a minimum three-night hotel stay in Abu Dhabi. Once the package is booked with a registered partner, they will handle the visa processing on your behalf, and the cost will be covered by the program, meaning you receive the visa at no extra charge.

The requirement for a minimum three-night consecutive stay is the central pillar of this initiative. The goal is to encourage tourists to spend more time exploring the capital, rather than treating it as a brief stopover.
