How to Check Your Revised Results
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started releasing the re-evaluation and verification outcomes for Class 12 students in a phased manner. Instead of the main results portal, the updated marks are accessible through DigiLocker. To check
your status, you need to log into the DigiLocker platform at results.digilocker.gov.in. You will typically need your mobile number and the OTP sent to it to log in. Once logged in, navigate to the "Issued Documents" section and select the Central Board of Secondary Education to find your updated Class XII Marksheet. The board has announced that over 87% of the applications have already been processed and declared, with the rest expected to be completed soon.
Understanding the Three Possible Outcomes
Once you access your results, you will find one of three outcomes: your marks may have increased, decreased, or remained unchanged. An increase in marks is often a welcome relief and can significantly impact your overall percentage. However, it's also possible for marks to decrease if the re-evaluator finds an error that resulted in you being awarded more marks than deserved. This is a risk inherent in the process. The most common outcome is often "no change," which means the original evaluation was deemed correct. The board has clarified that the re-evaluation process is a review, and a change in marks is not guaranteed.
What to Do If Your Marks Have Increased
If your marks have increased, congratulations. The next step is to secure your updated marksheet. CBSE will upload the revised digital marksheet to your DigiLocker account, which is digitally signed and valid for admission purposes. The board has also stated that the re-evaluation fee will be refunded to students whose marks increase. It is crucial to immediately inform any universities or colleges you have applied to about this change. You can send them a downloaded copy of your revised digital marksheet as proof, and follow up with the official hard copy once it is issued by the board. This change has already reshaped merit lists, with new toppers emerging in various streams after revision.
Navigating a 'No Change' or Decrease Outcome
If your marks remain the same or have decreased, this revised score is final and binding. No further appeals on the same answers will be considered by the board. For students who applied for verification and received a "no change" outcome, CBSE has offered an opportunity to physically inspect their answer books at the relevant regional office, with a schedule to be announced soon. While a decrease can be disappointing, it is a rare but possible outcome of the re-evaluation process. It is important to accept this final score and focus on the admission opportunities available to you with the confirmed percentage.
The Finality of the Process
The re-evaluation and verification process is the final opportunity for students to have their board exam scores reviewed. CBSE has emphasized that every application was processed through a "robust, transparent, and carefully monitored system" to ensure fairness. The board has also cautioned students to rely only on official communications from CBSE and to disregard rumours or unverified claims on social media. With the results now live, students should act swiftly to download their official digital documents and communicate any changes to higher education institutions to ensure a smooth transition into the next phase of their academic journey.
