You can also use pedestal or table fans strategically to direct damp air out of an open window, especially when outdoor conditions are favourable. This creates an effective exhaust system, pulling moisture out of a room.

Kitchen and bathroom exhaust fans are your most powerful allies in the fight against moisture. These are the two rooms where the most moisture is generated through activities like cooking and showering. Make it a habit to run the exhaust fan every time you cook or bathe, and leave it on for 15-20 minutes afterwards to ensure all the steam and moist air is vented directly outside. This single action prevents a huge amount of humidity from spreading throughout the rest of your home. Ensure your vents actually lead outside and are not blocked or painted shut, a common issue that renders them ineffective.
