Enter agri-bio panels. Innovators and startups across India are pioneering a solution that tackles both issues head-on. They are transforming agricultural waste—primarily straw from rice, wheat, and sugarcane—into high-performance building materials. How Is It Made?
The process is a blend of simple resources and smart technology. Tonnes of straw, sourced directly from farmers, are transported to manufacturing facilities. Here, the straw is cleaned, processed, and then compressed under high temperature and pressure with a proprietary, non-toxic adhesive. The result is a dense, rigid, and durable board, often called an AgriBioPanel.
