Monsoon Opening: Dates and Timings
Amrit Udyan has opened its gates for the "Summer Annuals Edition 2026," offering visitors a chance to see the gardens in their monsoon glory. The gardens are open to the public from August 16 to September 15, 2026. You can visit any day between Tuesday
and Sunday, from 10 am to 6 pm. The last entry for the day is at 5 pm, so be sure to plan your arrival accordingly. Note that the gardens remain closed every Monday for regular maintenance.
Booking Your Slot: Online Only
Entry to Amrit Udyan is free of charge, but advance online booking is mandatory. There are no facilities for on-the-spot or walk-in registration, so planning ahead is crucial. You can book your hourly slot through the official Rashtrapati Bhavan website (visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in). Bookings for a particular day close at 10 am on the preceding day. A single booking can accommodate up to six people, and you will need to carry a digital copy of your pass and a government-issued photo ID for entry.
Getting There: Metro and Shuttle Services
The most convenient way to reach Amrit Udyan is by the Delhi Metro. The nearest station is Central Secretariat, which is on both the Yellow and Violet Lines. From Gate No. 4 of the Central Secretariat station, a complimentary shuttle bus service is available to take visitors to the entrance of the garden. These shuttles run every 30 minutes between 9:30 am and 6 pm. Entry and exit for all visitors are through Gate No. 35 of the Rashtrapati Bhavan on North Avenue Road.
What to See: Monsoon Blooms and New Attractions
A monsoon visit offers a different perspective compared to the popular spring Udyan Utsav. The gardens are exceptionally lush, and this edition focuses on indigenous and native flowering plants. Look for vibrant displays of Balsam (Gul-mehndi), Aparajita, and various summer annuals that thrive in this weather. Besides the well-known Rectangular, Long, and Circular Gardens, new attractions have been added. These include the tranquil Babbling Brook Garden, shady Banyan Groves, and a unique floral clock. For children, the Bal Vatika offers a dedicated space with a treehouse and Nature's Classroom.
Rainy Day Essentials: What to Carry (and What to Leave)
Comfortable, water-resistant footwear is a must, as pathways can be wet and slippery. Carrying an umbrella is permitted and highly recommended. You can also bring your mobile phone, wallet, and a water bottle. However, items like eatables, backpacks, cameras, and video cameras are not allowed inside. For parents with infants, small handbags with essentials like milk bottles are permitted. Facilities like drinking water, restrooms, and first-aid stations are available for visitors along the route. There are also rain shelters placed along the pathways to offer protection during a downpour.
