In a move set to benefit lakhs of passengers, Northern Railway has regularised a special service into a new weekly Amrit Bharat Express connecting Delhi and Gorakhpur. This service, which commences its regular run on August 27, 2026, from Gorakhpur, aims
to provide an affordable and direct travel option between eastern Uttar Pradesh and the national capital. The train is designated with numbers 15095 for the Gorakhpur-Delhi journey and 15096 for the Delhi-Gorakhpur leg. As an Amrit Bharat category train, it is designed primarily with non-AC coaches to cater to budget-conscious, long-distance travellers.
Timetable and Days of Operation
The new service has a fixed weekly schedule. Train No. 15095 will depart from Gorakhpur Junction every Thursday at 10:45 PM, arriving at Delhi Junction at 12:50 PM the next day. For the return journey, Train No. 15096 will leave Delhi Junction every Friday at 2:10 PM and reach Gorakhpur Junction at 6:30 AM the following morning. This schedule provides an overnight journey in both directions, covering the approximately 780-kilometre distance in about 14 to 16 hours.

The train will connect several important towns in Uttar Pradesh, offering them a direct link to Delhi. The eight intermediate stops between Gorakhpur and Delhi are Khalilabad, Basti, Gonda Junction, Burhwal Junction, Sitapur Junction, Bareilly Junction, Moradabad Junction, and Ghaziabad Junction. Key timings for the Delhi-bound train include departures from Gonda at 1:50 AM, Sitapur at 4:50 AM, and Moradabad at 9:08 AM. This route ensures that passengers from major hubs along the way have a new, convenient option for their travel plans.
