Air India Express is launching the first-ever direct flights connecting Guwahati with the United Arab Emirates. The services begin with a flight to Dubai starting August 4, 2026, followed by a route to Abu Dhabi from August 7, 2026. The Guwahati-Dubai
service is scheduled to operate every Tuesday, while the Guwahati-Abu Dhabi flight will run every Friday. This move marks a significant milestone, establishing direct air links between Northeast India and the Gulf, and positions Guwahati's Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport as an increasingly important international gateway. Previously, travellers from the region had to take connecting domestic flights via congested metro airports like Delhi or Kolkata.
