only approved by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) but also accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). NABL accreditation to the ISO/IEC 17025 standard ensures the lab has the technical competence and a robust quality management system to produce accurate and reliable results. Reports from these labs are considered legally valid and are essential for regulatory compliance, including mandatory bi-annual testing and export requirements. Beyond accreditation, a lab's expertise matters. A facility with extensive experience in your specific product category—be it dairy, spices, or packaged snacks—will understand the common risks and relevant testing parameters. This specialised knowledge ensures they use the correct methods for detecting likely contaminants, from pesticide residues in vegetables to aflatoxins in nuts.
