How to Check Your Re-evaluation Result
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has begun releasing the Class 12 verification and re-evaluation results in a phased manner. [4, 6] Students can access their updated results primarily through the DigiLocker platform at results.digilocker.gov.in.
[2, 7] To check your result, you will need to log in using your credentials, which typically include your roll number, school number, and admit card ID. [3, 11] Once logged in, navigate to the 'Issued Documents' section and select CBSE to find your revised marksheet. [11] The board has advised students and parents to rely only on official CBSE communications and to be wary of rumours circulating on social media. [5]
Understanding the Outcome: Marks Increased, Decreased, or No Change
After re-evaluation, your marks can increase, decrease, or remain unchanged, and the revised score is considered final. [12, 19] If your marks change, an updated digital marksheet will be available for you to download from DigiLocker. [12, 14] This new marksheet is valid for all admission purposes. [14, 20] It's important to know that a 'no change' outcome is also possible. The purpose of re-evaluation is to ensure correct assessment, not to guarantee a score increase. [12] In some cases, students who receive a 'no change' result may be given an opportunity to inspect their answer sheets at a CBSE Regional Office. [12]
Next Steps: Securing Your Updated Mark Sheet
While the digital marksheet on DigiLocker is immediately available and valid, physical copies of the revised marksheet will be sent to the respective CBSE Regional Offices in due course. [14, 20] To obtain the new physical marksheet, students must surrender their old, original marksheet. [14, 20] You can collect the revised marksheet from your school, which will coordinate with the board, or in some cases, directly from the regional office. [13, 16] Be prepared for this process to take some time. [16] The old marksheet becomes invalid for the subject in which marks have been revised. [16]
Informing Colleges and Managing Admissions
For students in the midst of college admissions, the re-evaluation result can be critical. An increase in marks could make a student eligible for a desired course or institution, including fulfilling criteria like the 75% aggregate mark for IIT admissions. [9] It is crucial for students to immediately inform the admissions offices of the colleges and universities they have applied to about any change in their marks. Delays in the re-evaluation process have, in the past, caused students to miss admission deadlines or counselling rounds, so acting quickly is essential. [10, 15] Use your updated DigiLocker marksheet as official proof while you wait for the physical copy. [14]
What If You Are Still Not Satisfied?
The re-evaluation process is the final step offered by the board for score revision. The decision made after re-evaluation is considered final and binding. [22, 19] There are no further provisions for a second round of rechecking or appeals against the re-evaluation outcome. [19] The entire process, from verification of marks to obtaining a photocopy of the answer sheet and finally applying for re-evaluation of specific questions, is designed to be a transparent and comprehensive review. [5, 8] Once this final result is declared, students are encouraged to focus on their next steps, whether that involves college admissions or preparing for supplementary exams if applicable.
