Why The Disruptions Are Happening
To improve safety and increase capacity, Indian Railways has scheduled critical engineering work at several key junctions for October. The primary project involves pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking work to connect a third railway line between
Bina and Agasod stations. This yard remodelling is a crucial step for modernising the rail network, allowing for smoother and safer train operations in the future. While these upgrades necessitate temporary disruptions, they are essential for long-term improvements in efficiency and the ability to run more trains on congested routes.
The Main Affected Zone: Bina-Agasod Section
The bulk of the announced changes center around the Bina-Agasod section, which falls under the West Central Railway and North Central Railway zones. The work is scheduled to take place in phases, culminating between October 1 and October 15, 2026. During this period, numerous long-distance services that pass through Bina will be rerouted via alternate paths to ensure operations can continue safely. Passengers on trains that typically halt at stations within this section should be prepared for revised schedules and potential skips of regular stops.
List of Diverted Trains: Bhopal-Jodhpur and Rewa Services
Several popular services will run on diverted routes on specific dates. Train Nos. 14814 Bhopal-Jodhpur and 14813 Jodhpur-Bhopal will be rerouted via Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Maksi Junction, Nagda, and Kota. The Bhopal-Jodhpur service is diverted from October 1 to 15, while its return service is diverted from October 1 to 14. Additionally, Train No. 11703 Rewa-Dr Ambedkar Nagar Tri-Weekly Express will be diverted via Bina Malkhedi and Guna on October 8, 11, and 13. The return train (11704) will take the same alternate path on October 9, 12, and 14.
Rewanchal, Gondwana and Other Key Diversions
The Rewanchal Express services are also impacted. Train No. 12185 (Rewa-Rani Kamalapati) and Train No. 12186 (Rani Kamalapati-Rewa) will run via Katni, Jabalpur, and Itarsi from October 8 to 14. Other notable diversions announced by West Central Railway include the Howrah-Bhopal Weekly Express (13025) on October 12 and its return service (13026) on October 14, which will run via New Katni Junction, Jabalpur, and Itarsi. The Gondwana Express and several other services passing through the region will also experience similar rerouting on specific dates throughout the first half of October.
Cancellations and Other Regional Works
While the Bina-Agasod project primarily involves diversions, other engineering works across the country will lead to outright cancellations in October. For instance, due to track maintenance in the Mysuru Division, the Yesvantpur–Mangaluru Junction Tri-weekly Express (16575) will be cancelled on multiple dates, including October 4, 6, 8, 11, 13, and 15. Separately, redevelopment work at Chandigarh station will see hundreds of train trips cancelled until October 15, affecting routes like Delhi-Kalka and Chandigarh-Amritsar. In the Pune division, commissioning of a third line will result in cancellations of services like the Nagpur-Pune Express on October 2 and 3.

Given the scale of these disruptions, passengers are strongly advised to verify the status of their train before starting their journey.
