Further south, the journey between Bengaluru and Mangaluru provides a spectacular crossing of the Sakleshpur-Subrahmanya Ghat section, which is renowned for its dense forests and dramatic, misty slopes, especially after the rains. The recently introduced service on the Pune-Secunderabad Shatabdi also offers scenic stretches, including views of the Ananthagiri Hills and the Ujni backwaters.
