Multiple Opportunities Await
ISRO has announced recruitment for a variety of positions across its centres, presenting a golden opportunity for engineering graduates, diploma holders, and other qualified candidates to contribute to India's space program. Currently, there are two major
recruitment drives with impending deadlines. One is for Scientist/Engineer 'SC' posts, which relies on GATE scores for selection. The other major drive is for administrative and support roles, including Assistant, Upper Division Clerk (UDC), Junior Personal Assistant (JPA), and Stenographer. It is crucial for applicants to identify the correct notification and ensure they meet the specific requirements before the deadlines.
Scientist/Engineer 'SC' Roles
This is a premier opportunity for engineering graduates. ISRO is recruiting 93 Scientist/Engineer 'SC' posts across disciplines like Electronics, Mechanical, and Computer Science. To be eligible, candidates must possess a B.E./B.Tech or equivalent degree in the relevant field with a minimum aggregate of 65% marks or a CGPA of 6.84 on a 10-point scale. A key requirement for this recruitment is a valid GATE 2025 or GATE 2026 score in the corresponding engineering discipline. The selection process involves shortlisting candidates based on their GATE score, followed by a personal interview. The final merit list will give 50% weightage to the GATE score and 50% to the interview performance. The application deadline for these coveted posts is August 17, 2026.
Administrative and Assistant Posts
Another significant recruitment drive is for 267 posts including Assistant, Upper Division Clerk (UDC), Junior Personal Assistant (JPA), and Stenographer. For the Assistant and UDC positions, candidates must have a graduation degree from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.32. Proficiency in computer usage is also required. For JPA and Stenographer roles, applicants need a diploma in commercial or secretarial practice with relevant experience and specific shorthand/typing speeds. The age limit for these posts is generally 18 to 28 years, with relaxations for OBC, SC/ST, and other categories as per government norms. The deadline for this recruitment has been extended to August 20, 2026.
How to Apply Online
The application process for all ISRO posts is conducted exclusively online through the official website, isro.gov.in. Candidates need to visit the 'Careers' section, find the relevant advertisement number, and click on the link to apply. The process involves a one-time registration, filling out the detailed application form with personal and educational details, and uploading necessary documents like photographs and certificates. Applicants must use a valid email ID and mobile number, as all future communication will be sent through these channels. It's important to double-check all information before final submission.
Key Dates and Deadlines
Timing is critical. For the Scientist/Engineer 'SC' posts based on GATE scores, the last date to submit the online application is August 17, 2026. For the recruitment of Assistant, UDC, JPA, and Stenographer roles, the extended deadline for online application submission is August 20, 2026. Candidates are advised to complete the process well before the closing time to avoid any last-minute technical glitches that can occur due to heavy website traffic.
