Creamy & Quick Paneer Bhurji
Paneer Bhurji is the answer to a high-protein breakfast that feels indulgent but comes together in minutes. This simple scramble is packed with protein, making it a fantastic option for muscle repair and keeping you full until lunch. A 100-gram serving
of paneer can offer a substantial 18-20 grams of protein. To make this in under 10 minutes, start by heating a teaspoon of oil or ghee in a pan. Sauté a finely chopped small onion until translucent, which takes about two minutes. Add chopped ginger, a green chilli, and one small chopped tomato, cooking for another two minutes until the tomato softens. Then, stir in a pinch of turmeric, red chilli powder, and salt. Finally, add 100 grams of crumbled paneer, mix well, and cook for another two to three minutes until everything is heated through. Garnish with fresh coriander, and you have a flavourful, satisfying breakfast ready to be served with toast or roti.
Savory & Satisfying Oats Chilla
Swap your regular dosa for a quick, fibre-rich Oats Chilla. This savory pancake is a brilliant way to incorporate the goodness of oats into your diet, offering sustained energy release and promoting digestive health. The combination of oats and besan (gram flour) provides a good dose of plant-based protein, with a single chilla often containing around 8-10 grams. For a 10-minute version, the trick is to use quick-cooking oats ground into a fine powder. In a bowl, mix half a cup of oat flour with a quarter cup of besan. Add finely chopped onion, tomato, coriander, and spices like turmeric, cumin powder, and a pinch of red chilli powder. Pour in about three-quarters of a cup of water and whisk to form a smooth, lump-free batter with a flowing consistency. Heat a non-stick tava, lightly grease it, and pour a ladleful of batter, spreading it into a circle. Cook for a couple of minutes on each side until golden brown. It’s a nutritious and filling breakfast that supports weight management by keeping you full for longer.
Fresh & Zesty Sprout Chaat
When you have absolutely no time to cook, a Sprout Chaat is your five-minute saviour. Sprouting beans and legumes increases their protein content and makes them easier to digest. While raw moong dal has a high protein density, a cup of sprouted moong provides a solid foundation for a protein-rich meal. To hit a higher protein mark, the magic is in the mix-ins. Start with a cup of pre-sprouted moong beans (you can lightly steam them for two minutes for better digestion if you prefer). To this, add a finely chopped small onion, tomato, and cucumber. For a serious protein boost, add a handful of roasted peanuts or chickpeas. The flavour comes from a simple dressing of lemon juice, a generous sprinkle of chaat masala, and a pinch of black salt. Toss everything together and garnish with fresh coriander. This no-cook recipe is not only incredibly fast but also a powerhouse of vitamins, minerals, and fibre.
