This choice aligns with a growing interest in mindful eating and traditional wellness practices. The glimpse into her diet suggests a preference for light, easily digestible options, characteristic of Ayurvedic principles, especially during the later hours of the day when the body's digestive fire is considered to be less intense.

Understanding the nutritional impact of such a snack, we consulted Chief Dietitian Dt Amreen Sheikh from KIMS Hospitals, Thane. She explained that rice flour-based snacks, like Archana's momos, can be an excellent choice for an evening bite due to their lightness and ease of digestion. Unlike many processed or deep-fried alternatives, these are typically free from numerous artificial additives and are gentler on the digestive system. Rice flour provides a readily available source of energy as it's a simple carbohydrate. However, Dt Sheikh highlighted that to ensure sustained satiety, these snacks should ideally be complemented with sources of protein or healthy fats, preventing premature hunger pangs.
Ayurvedic Snack Alignment
From an Ayurvedic perspective, the emphasis is often placed on consuming foods that are simple, warm, and easily processed by the body. Rice flour preparations, when prepared with minimal oil and a light hand with spices, fit perfectly within this framework. For individuals managing their weight or blood sugar, it is crucial to incorporate fiber-rich elements or protein. Enhancing Snack Nutrition
Dt Sheikh provided practical strategies to elevate the nutritional profile of rice flour snacks. Incorporating ingredients like grated vegetables can add essential vitamins and fiber.
