MasterChef India Season 9 has elevated the competition by introducing family pairs as contestants, a move that has significantly boosted viewer engagement.
This innovative format sees duos showcasing their culinary prowess week after week, facing new twists and challenges designed to test their skills under pressure. The show broadcasts on Sony Entertainment Television and can be streamed online on SonyLIV at 8 PM for those who miss the television broadcast. So far, four teams have been eliminated from the competition, but many talented pairs continue their journey towards the coveted MasterChef title. The audience remains captivated by the diverse culinary backgrounds and emotional connections these teams bring to the kitchen.
Remaining Contenders
As MasterChef India 9 progresses, several promising pairs continue to impress the judges and viewers with their gastronomic creations. Representing Nagpur, Maharashtra, are the brothers Ajinkya and Vikram Gandhe. Hailing from Odisha, sisters Anju Pradhan and Manju Ojha, from Puri and Bhubaneswar respectively, bring their unique regional flavors. The spirited siblings Anshmeet Singh and Prabhdeep Kaur from Punjab, and the Mumbai-based sisters-in-law Archana Dhotre and Rupali Jadhav, are also actively vying for the title. Further adding to the diverse contestant pool are the mother-daughter duo Chandana and Sai Sri Rachakonda from Hyderabad, the brother-sister pair Mahfooz and Yasmin Ansari from Chhattisgarh, the Mathura sisters Simran and Himanshi Vohra, and the father-daughter team Venu and Avani Sharma from Kasaragod.
Past Eliminations
The journey in MasterChef India 9 has seen several talented pairs bid farewell to the competition. The first elimination on January 23 saw Raksha and Kanchana Devi from Bir, Himachal Pradesh, securing the 12th position. Following them, on January 30, Vishnu and Harshini Purohit from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, were evicted from the 11th spot. The culinary heat intensified on February 6 when the Bikaner pair, Parvati and Himang Soni, were eliminated at the tenth position. Most recently, last week on February 13, the Mumbai sisters Deepali Bihani and Jamuna Somani were eliminated, concluding their MasterChef India 2026 journey at the ninth position. Each elimination brings the remaining contestants closer to the grand finale, making every challenge more critical.
